• Chief and Kokopellis Thunder Drum

    Chief and Kokopelli thunder drum made from a large penguin gourd. The kokopellis are hand painted red and blue with an Indian chief wood burned in center embellished with a turquoise gemstone. The top is cut off allowing the sound to resonate from the drum. At the top of the gourd is turquoise in addition to splashes of copper scattered around it.

    Mom and Foal in Pasture Thunder Drum made from large kettle gourd.  Horses grazing along fenced in a pasture with a coupled with trees are all wood burned. Water color paints have been added for a delightful scene. A horseshoe has been cut out on each side for the sound to resonates through.  Dimensions are approximately 8” across x 34” from top of hanger to bottom of spring.
  • Horse Head Thunder Drum
    Horse Head thunder drum made from a large kettle gourd.  The head is wood burned in addition to background being watercolor painted in shades green fading to lavender. There is a cut out horse shoe toward top of the gourd to allow the sound to resonate. The embellishment in the center of the horse shoe is a tear drop shaped turquoise gemstone coupled with a copper splash above it. The horse naturally conveys the message that she is strong and determined. Confident and graceful in all that she does.

    Bear Symbol Painted thunder drum made from a large African wine kettle gourd.  The bear symbol is hand painted with permanent and metallic paints. There are two crescent cutouts on the sides to allow the sound to resonate (Not shown in the picture). The embellishment at the top of the thunder drum is a turquoise stone with a copper splash around it.  The bear symbol represents a protector and symbolizes strength and courage.
